Eurocopter plans to form ventures with Pawan Hans Helicopters for maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) and training facilities either in Mumbai or Delhi. The investments would be shared equally by both the companies. The two facilities would come up at the same location.
The proposed MRO would service atleast 50-60 helicopters from India and other South Asian countries. The training centre, to be equipped with state-of-the-art simulator for AS 365 N3 Dauphin, would groom new pilots.
Eurocopter planned to set up an engineering centre in the next two years. It had also signed MoUs with 40-50 Indian companies for manufacturing various helicopter components. Eventually, it was proposed to establish an Indian subsidiary as also a helicopter component manufacturing unit. |
