  Gujarat to spend Rs 350 cr on tourism infrastructure

The Gujarat state government has allocated Rs 350 crore for infrastructure and development of tourism in the state this year. It is aimed to make Gujarat a leading global tourist destination.

Earlier the state had developed Saputara as a modern hill station at an investment of Rs150 crore to attract both, domestic and foreign travellers.

The state has seen foreign tourist arrivals increasing significantly in the first six months of 2010 as compared to the same period in 2009. The inflow has increased by at least 40% during the six months.
