A mega food park involving a capital outlay of Rs 150 crore is set to come up in Punjab soon. The first in Punjab, the park will be developed at Fazilka in Ferozepur district by a consortium led by agro unit International Fresh Farm Products. The union ministry of food processing industries has granted the Mega Food Park project to International Fresh Farm Products Ltd for its development. The park will be spread across 50 acre, comprising hi-tech infrastructure meant for agro or food-processing along with value chain from farm to market that would attract investments in food processing sector and provide remunerative returns for farmers. The proposed park would also have Central Processing Centre (CPC), supported by common infrastructure and farm level facilities in the form of collection centres and primary processing centres and other need based infrastructure. |
