An MoU has been signed today between NTPC and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) for setting up two thermal plants in Bangladesh. The projects will be set up at Chittagong and Khulna with an estimated investment of Rs 13,200 crore. . The coal-fired power plants are likely to be installed on a 50:50 equity basis to be run on imported coal and operated by NTPC. NTPC will also provide training and development to human. The thermal power plants will be established to mitigate the power shortages in the neighbouring nation. |
