Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has decided to set up a new production facility in Bengaluru to manufacture 20 tonne class hydraulic excavators and excavator-mounted pipe layer machines. The new facility will be operational by the end of 2011. The project is estimated to cost Rs 90 crore. The unit will produce about 500 mn units of hydraulic excavators annually.
