Tayo Rolls Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited, has put up integrated forging facilities at a cost of Rs 168 crore, for the manufacture of forged rolls and engineering forgings. Apart from producing forged rolls, the new facilities would also manufacture engineering forgings to cater to the requirements of the oil and gas, power, wind mill, sugar, cement and steel sectors. The project has been funded through equity and term loans. The integrated forging facility comprises an arc furnace, ladle furnace and vacuum de-gassing unit for manufacturing forging quality ingots, including round ingots; a modern forge shop with an 2,500-tonne open die forging press, along with other auxiliaries
