A national conference on the roads sector, "India Roads 2010: Emerging Technologies and Challenges", was recently held in Hyderabad. A report.

Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways had announced high-speed execution and implementation of 20 km of roads per day which to match international standards. This requires efficient technologies, skills finance and materials. In order to make the execution smooth and sustainable, model agreements and policies have to be in tune with those criteria. Design, engineering skills and use of information technology can drive India on this expressway of road development.
