Hotel industry in Bangalore has urged the state government to reduce tax from four per cent to two per cent. The tax rate should be brought down at same level with Tamil Nadu, which has only two per cent. Due to the four per cent tax and 12 per cent VAT, several hotel owners had closed down their hotels as they could not manage the tax burden.
