 Cil Appoints Kpmg

Coal India (CIL) has roped in consulting firm KPMG to format and implement a corporate plan over the next 18 months. Plagued by transportation problems, CIL expects to resolve them soon enough.

India's demand for coal is growing steadily and CIL is finding it difficult to keep pace due to several reasons, including inordinate delays in the procurement of environmental and forest clearances. The gap between supply and demand could be in the range of 120 million tonne during financial 2010-11.
