The Ministry of Rural Development has released grant-in-aid worth Rs 800 crore to Rajasthan, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme during the current financial year. These states are water stressed and grant has been released on account of their better performance.
