A decision on NTPC's plan to take control of Jharkhand State Electricity Board's Patratu thermal power station (PTPS) near Ranchi is likely to be firmed up shortly. Under the new arrangement for the revival of the plant, a 75:25 joint venture is likely to be formed, where NTPC will hold majority stake.
Patratu has six Russian units of 36 to 42 years old and four Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) manufactured units of 26-31 years old.
