The Orissa government has cleared four power projects, each featuring a capacity of 1,320 MW. These projects are collectively valued at Rs 40,000 crore. The projects include KU Project’s power plant at Sonepur, NSNL Nagapattinam Power project at Angul, SPI Ports’ power plant at Kendrapara and Kalinga Energy and Power plant at Jharsuguda. KU Projects has lined up Rs 7,260 crore for its project, while the Nagapattinam project entails an outlay of Rs 8,900 crore. The Nagapattinam project also involves setting up of a 3 lakh tonne sugar unit and spindling facility.
