Come September and the shipping ministry will introduce a new maritime policy which is in the making for luring investments and is expected to be out within a month's time. The new policy will replace the current National Maritime Development Programme (NMDP) which is valid till 2012; the new policy will be valid for ten years upto 2020. Currently NMDP covers only projects that have been under implementation as on 1 April, 2005 or the ones that will begin by 31 March, 2012.
