Atlas Copco to double capacity of Hyderabad plant

Atlas Copco announced its plan to double the capacity of its manufacturing plant in Hyderabad. Atlas Copco will invest Rs 70 crore to double the manufacturing capacity at its new Hyderabad plant. The expansion will be completed by year-end and the plant will be fully operational by March 2017, according to the company. The project will set up a world-class R&D test centre for the company’s rock drilling products, enabling Atlas Copco to help its Indian customers increase their productivity.

In the coming months, the Hyderabad plant is scheduled to introduce new products such as rotary products for oil and gas application, products for hard metal mining, and innovative deep hole drilling machine to cater to Indian and African markets.

Meanwhile, Atlas Copco has also announced the launch of three new locally produced compressors: Electric portable compressor, XRHS65 compressor, and VSD+ ranging from 7 kW to 37 kW. Domestic production of these compressors will lead to quick and reliable delivery, further assisting Atlas Copco’s many customers in India.
