RAMKY GROUP | Widespread Reach

With an overall order book of around Rs 5,000 crore, the company has continuous demand for cement, steel and heavy equipment for its projects.

With an overall order book of around Rs 5,000 crore, Ramky Group is currently executing various projects in the roads, buildings, irrigation and water
supply segments. (These include NHAI and state roads in Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh and the Northeast, and buildings in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, while our water supply and distribution projects are in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, among others, says M Goutham Reddy, Director, Ramky Group.

The company has recently bagged projects such as the Rs 280-crore Indore Water Supply project, the Rs 114.9-crore Khargone Water Supply project
and the Rs 142.17-crore Burhanpur Water Supply Scheme v all in Madhya Pradesh.

Further, it has bagged projects for real-estate buildings in Hyderabad, Telangana, worth Rs 320 crore, and buildings in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, worth Rs 120 crore.

(There is continuous demand for cement and steel for these projects, estimated at 11,000 tonne of cement, 35,000 tonne of steel, 37,000 mt of bitumen and MS/DI pipes worth Rs 180 crore during 2018-19, reveals Reddy.

He adds that there is a need for tower cranes, graders, crushing plants, asphalt plants, WMM plants, concrete batching plants, asphalt pavers, excavators, weigh bridge, and other heavy equipment. (Construction materials will constitute around 60 per cent, while equipment procurement will be 8 per cent.

Given that the construction and infrastructure sector has been going through tough times over the past few years, Reddy concedes that raising funds
has been a challenge. He shares that the company is funding through a combination of promoter financing, d\ebt and sale of a few assets.

Typically, the company does not subcontract, and executes works directly. Small portions of work are at times contracted, such as MEP services, small
quantity excavations and HVAC works.
