Bhadra International to handle ground work at Calicut airport

New Delhi-based Bhadra International India Ltd. may soon take over the ground handling work at Calicut International Airport. The company has already installed the vehicles and equipment required for the operations, which would start functioning within the next few days, informed S.S. Malhotra, Head, Human Resources, Bhadra International India Ltd.

Emphasizing on the equipments being used for the operation, Malhotra said that the company had imported new equipment, which confirmed to all the standard of International Air Transport Association (IATA), from Germany. These equipment would replace the farm tractors and conventional high-floor coaches in order to ensure high-speed and quality construction work at the site. Malhotra detailed that the new range of equipment, which would be used for the purpose included pushback vehicles, step ladders, conveyors, main deck loaders for wide-body aircraft, load-deck loaders for narrow-body aircraft, tow bars to tow aircraft, ground power units and transporters. As per the new ground handling policy, all the equipment are battery-operated. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has also allotted space to set up a workshop for the maintenance and repairing work of the equipment.

Bhadra International India Ltd is a privately owned ground handling service providers, which has also been assigned to handle the ground work at Chennai, Kolkotta, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangalore and Tiruchi airports.
