Jammu & Kashmir Cement to set up new cement plant in Samba district

Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd. is all set to open a new cement plant with a capacity of 300 tonne per day (TPD) in Samba district of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The project, which is likely to cost Rs 26.96 crore, has been approved at the 94th Board of Directors meeting chaired by the Minister for Industries and Commerce SS Salathia.

According to an official statement, the board of director has asked the managing director of the company to discuss proposal of financial closure. The consultant MS Ercon has already submitted the report and the project is likely to be completed within 16 months.

Salathia, the Chairman of the board, Jammu and Kashmir Cements Ltd., urged management to work with efficiency and dedication to achieve underlined targets. He also focused on the need to stabilise the financial condition of the company by executing better planning and production.
