APTransco to invest Rs 5900 cr

APTransco to invest Rs 5900 crore in new transmission substations

APTransco, the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh, is planning to invest Rs 5,900 crore in new transmission substations to meet the power transmission requirements in the state. According to Ajay Jain, Managing Director of the state power transmission utility, the corporation has already sanctioned a fund of Rs 2,941 crore for the project.

While disclosing other financial details, Jain said that the APTransco has already invested a huge amount in new substation and power lines in 2010-11, which is about 100 crore higher as compared to the investment made in 2010. The corporation is also planning to set up 4,000 MW plant at Vodarevu in Guntur district.
