Cairn India plan to increase production from Ravva oil field

Cairn India, a leading player in the Indian oil and gas industry is likely to increase its oil production capacity at offshore Ravva oil field by 16,000 barrels of oil per day.

The unit has so far, produced an average of 39,434 barrels, which is equivalent to the production achieved in the third quarter by December 31, 2010. According to a company official, Cairn has invested about $ 40 million in its unit for drilling a new offshore horizontal well, which had resulted in an increased production capacity of the plant.

Ravva block was completed after constant effort of 15 years. It has so far, produced 235 million barrels of crude oil.
