Infrastructure Today India Opportunity 2011

Relevance of the Conference

In view of its continuing robust growth, India is expected to be the world's largest economy by 2050, surpassing China and the United States. The Indian economy is expected to be nearly $85.97 trillion on a PPP basis by 2050, from $3.92 trillion in 2010.

To fuel growth of such pace, India will have to invest over 9 per cent of its GDP in infrastructure. The ideal time for investing in the sunrise opportunities in infrastructure is NOW. In the Twelfth Five Year plan which commences from 2013, an investment of $1 trillion has been envisaged in infrastructure of which 50 per cent would have to be contributed by the private sector, presenting a huge opportunity for the sector to play an integral role in leveraging this opportunity.

Infrastructure Today India Opportunity 2011 presents a unique forum for leaders of India and the US to collaborate and capitalize on the opportunities on offer in the infrastructure sector in India.
