Karnataka CM to unveil Mysore water project

Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar would inaugurate the Kabini drinking water project in Mysore that would provide additional 60 million litre of water to the city per day.

The first phase of the project has been completed and trial supply of water has been done.The Rs 108 crore project when completed in three stages is expected to benefit Mysore to the tune of 180 mld additional water.

This would help improve the water requirements of the city which is presently facing a shortage. Work on the first phase was launched in 2009 and was scheduled to be completed by 2011-mid.

Besides, the chief minister would also inaugurate the mini-Vidhana Soudha that would benefit a number of offices presently spread across the city to come under one roof.

These projects will be inaugurated as part of the six-day ‘development week’ to be observed from January 28 when benefits of various departments will also be distributed to selected beneficiaries, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner Naga Nayak.

The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has selected 5.18 acres for the maiden ‘Auto Nagar’ project in Bandipalya. This is among the four such facilities to be created in four different parts of the city.
