Clear road projects on priority: J&K Minister tells officials

Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Forest, Environment & Ecology, Mian Altaf Ahmed has said that road connectivity was imperative for all round development of the state and asked the officials concerned to give forest clearance only after fulfilling all formalities where ever the road passes through forest area.

Proposals for Compensatory Afforestation Management Projects Authority (CAMPA) should be dwelt on priority because road connectivity would facilitate people in many ways, he added. The Minister was reviewing pace of development schemes undertaken for execution by Forest Department in Poonch district in an officers meeting in Poonch in Dak Bungalow on February 10.

Mian Altaf Ahmed was apprised regarding pace of various road projects proposed to be constructed from forest area and are at different stages of completion for want of Administrative approval from forest department. Meanwhile the meeting was informed that as many as 15628 cft timbers were provided to 1255 beneficiaries of the district up to ending Jan,2013 from various sales depots of the department.
