Cairn India to focus on raising output

P Elango, Chief Executive Officer of Cairn India informed that the primary focus of the firm is to increase production and for that it has to undertake great exploration activities.

The firm recently received approval from the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) to make further exploration at its block in Rajasthan and following this the company is accelerating plans to drill 30 wells during 2013-14. In the future, through additional capacities the firm can add more production at small incremental costs, he said. It may be noted that the firm announced a 48 percent rise in profit at Rs 3,340 crore in the third quarter ending December 31, 2012 after it increased production from the Rajasthan block.

Meanwhile, the Vedanta group firm is looking out for contractors who can provide fluid analysis and services for its drilling campaign in the RJ-ON-90/1 block.
