State govt grants over Rs 2 bn for civic cells

Urban Administration Minister of Chhattisgarh Amar Agrawal informed that the state government granted over Rs 200 crore to the civic cells for carrying out various developmental works including those for infrastructure development in the state in 2012-13.

He said that a total of nine new nagar panchayats had been formed for providing better facilities to the citizens which is a new record in the area of urban development programmes.

He recently cleared grant of Rs 4 crore for development of a total of four utilities within the Nagri Nagar Panchayat limits in Dhamtari district.

While on a visit to the district, he approved Rs 4 crore for construction of ‘Gaurav Path’, Cultural Building, Primary Health Centre and a graveyard at Nagri Nagar Panchayat.

This apart, Agarwal also carried out inauguration and laid foundation stone for development works costing an estimated Rs 3.45 crore at the Nagri Nagar Panchayat.

On the occasion, the Minister on a number of demands raised by the public representatives approved a sum of Rs 3.50 crore for development of ‘Gaurav Path’ besides approving Rs 10 lakh for construction of a Cultural Building, Rs 20 lakh for construction of a Primary Health Centre at Birgudi apart from approving Rs10 lakh for construction of a graveyard.
