Nashik civic body seeks State's nod for taller buildings

Seeking to increase the permissible height of buildings to 45 metres, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has sent a proposal to Maharashtra government. At present, the maximum height permissible in the city is 40 metres. The proposed increase in the height to 45 metres will accommodate 14 floors.

Around 30-40 housing projects with 12 floors are being constructed in Nashik. However, the population of the city has reached around 16 lakh and it is increasing every day, said a senior civic body official.

Real estate prices have increased a lot and land is becoming scarce in the city. Hence, vertical growth of the city is necessary, he added.
