CMWSSB awards Rs 126 cr contract to SEPC

Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) awarded a Rs 126 crore contract to Shriram EPC (SEPC) for setting up a comprehensive Water Supply Scheme.

SEPC would frame the water supply scheme for the city including areas of Karambakkam, Nolambur and Injambakkam within the limits of Chennai. The scheme will also cover the area of Kathivakkam. The period of completion for the works is 30 months.

Earlier, the municipal services vertical of Shriram EPC secured orders from the Gujarat Urban Development Company and the Kayalpattanam Municipality, Kayalpattanam, Tamilnadu.

The firm expect these orders to strengthen its order backlog position. The Municipal services vertical allows the firm to address a large and burgeoning opportunity given the significant demand for upgradation of urban infrastructure across the country, T Shivaraman, Managing Director & CEO of the firm said.

The combined business model offers multiple capabilities catering to a wide range of industries and the width and depth of these offerings will ensure that we are well placed to capitalize on a revival in business spending, he said.
