In all, a cheque for Rs 2.81 crore has been issued to the mosque land after taking into consideration the government land value on Road No 2 of Banjara Hills. This land is abutting the main road. By utilising the acquired land, work to widen the road will commence within a week, the civic body said. There are other owners who are still holding out. Municipal officials are holding negotiations for acquisition of portions of land belonging to Punja-gutta Smashana Vatika and a temple located near LV Prasad Eye Institute, and a couple of private properties.
