Jharkhand invites tenders for earthwork

ELIZA WAGHMARE The Water Resources Department of Jharkhand has invited tenders for the construction of earthwork and PCC lining of Jadugora distributary. Located around 12 km from Jamshedpur, the total length of the project will be about 16.5 km. The total cost of the project is Rs 20 crore. Vishnudeo Tanti, Executive Engineer, Subernarekha Canal Division, Government of Jharkhand, says, “The tenders are expected to be finalised by June this year. And, soon after, the construction will start and the project will be completed within two years.” According to Tanti, five companies have shown their interest in this project, however, he refused to divulge further details of companies who have expressed their interest. Apart from this, the state has also invited tenders for the construction of micro-irrigation tank in catchments and drainage area of Ahu River at Jhalawar; and construction of Kharkai Dam with gates at Icha-Chaliama and mini rural water supply scheme at Khunti.
