SJVN to generate 800 mn units by FY15

Our Mumbai Bureau The Satlaj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd, which recently commissioned the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Electric Project, expects that once all the six units get synchronised to the grid, it will begin generating 800 million units of electricity from FY15. The unit 1 and unit 2 of the Rampur Hydroelectric project has been commissioned successfully. The third unit that is unit 5 is in the process of being commissioned during this month end. The Rampur Hydro Electric Project commenced power generation on March 20 with the synchronisation of its first 68.67 MW unit with the northern grid. The project is located on river Satluj in Himachal Pradesh. Rampur Hydroelectric Project comprises six units of 68.67 MW and is designed for annual energy of 1,770 million units. In terms of megawatts, during 2013-2014, 206 MW is to be connected to the grid. Out of that the company has already commissioned two machines successfully. The third is in the pipeline.
