JNPT invites tender for Rs 1,800 crore road project

Neeraj N. Kumar, Chairman, JNPT has said that the existing 43 km of road network from JNPT connecting to Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Goa and Mumbai-Agra Highways would be converted into 12 lanes from the present 4 lanes with two lanes on each sides dedicated for public transport. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,800 crore and will be taken up on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis. Bids are already invited. The port is executing this project in association with National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and City Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd (CIDCO).
