Yettinahole Integrated Drinking Water Scheme to take off soon

Karnataka water resources minister MB Patil announced that the renaming of Yettinahole drinking water project as Yettinahole Integrated Drinking Water Scheme. The Government of Karnataka is gearing to start work on this project. The National Institute of Hydrology report envisions a yield of 23.76 tmcft of water from the Yettinahole rivulet in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district. This project could be the key to solve the drinking water problems in the districts of Chickballapur, Kolar, Tumkur and Hassan. The detailed project report is ready and user departments such as Urban Development, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, BWSSB and KUWSSB are asked to submit their suggestions at the earliest. The civil works on the project is likely to begin soon. The works will be taken up in five packages. Tendering process for two packages have already commenced.The funding is sought fromr World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) apart from Central grants.
