Jharkhand UDD prepares a report on Harmu river revival

The Jharkhand state urban development department is on the verge of completing the detailed project report with technical support from IIT-Mumbai, BIT-Mesra and Mumbai-based Tandon Group to revive the Harmu river. The proposed project is likely to cost Rs 83 crore. The DPR includes revival projects in the form of beautification drive, an anti-encroachment initiative and setting up of sewage treatment plant. The plan is almost ready and the work is likely to start from August 15, 2014. Tenders for the beautification work will be floated soon. Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has already started cleanliness drive along the river.
