Mundra UMPP completes three years in operation

Tata Power´s Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) generated 62,945.77 mn units of electricity during 2012 to 2015, thereby providing power to about 2 per cent of the country´s power needs in five states. The 4,000-MW UMPP by Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has successfully completed three years of operation, generating 62,945.77 MUs of electricity using supercritical technology. Mundra UMPP supplies electricity to eight discoms in five states, namely Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and Punjab.
