Connecting the CE Industry

Excon 2015 would aim at facilitating faster and sustainable growth of infrastructure and construction equipment industry in India.
As a prelude to Excon 2015, a road show was organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Mumbai on October 8, 2015. In essence, this meet was organised by CII to showcase the exhibition and give an overview. The event was attended by all sections of the connected stakeholders.

Excon´s 8th international construction equipment and construction technology trade fair will be South Asia´s largest exhibition in this sector. Approximately, over 850 exhibitors including 275 from abroad are registered to showcase their products and technology during this exhibition scheduled from 25 to 29 November 2015..

Hemant Mathur, GM& Head - Construction Equipment Business, Larsen & Toubro, very pragmatically stated, ´If the Indian economy has to revive and I am sure it will, the construction and construction equipment industry will be the first to see live action happening at the ground level. Neerav Parmar, Chairman - Mumbai, Builder Association of India, and Director, Shapoorji Pallonji, highlighted the growth potential of the construction industry on the days to come. Rightfully, he mentioned the most significant pain area which is availability of skilled manpower in the construction sector and emphasised on the need to promote, augment and accelerate the skill development initiatives in the country. .

Piush Goyal, Managing Director, Kelley Material Handling Equipment India and Member - Excon Steering Committee, recounted the impressive track record of Excon ever since the first in 2007. He informed that Excon 2015 will consist of 200,000 sq m of exhibition area including open and covered areas, 33 per cent international participants, live demos of equipment exhibits, numerous new product launches and technologies to enable the stakeholders achieve lowest operation and maintenance costs. During Excon, one can attend several conferences on important issues and a detailed industry survey report jointly prepared by Feedback Ventures and industry professionals, will be released by CII. .

With each passing edition, the event has witnessed immense growth both in quality and in numbers. So, while this will be the largest event on all counts including the number of domestic and overseas visitors, exhibition area and new project launches, the biggest difference will be the presence of enhanced foreign players. Excon 2015 would also have a large presence of SMEs in the component and aggregate manufacturing, showcasing India´s potential as a preferred outsourcing destination for construction equipment manufacturing. .
