Madhya Pradesh to supply 10,000 MW in peak hours

Madhya Pradesh has joined a small club of states which supply 10,000 MW of power during peak hours, as per the latest figures issued by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Out of the 37 states and Union Territories, Madhya Pradesh is among the seven states which have more than 10,000 MW power for supplying during peak hours. According to the CEA report, Maharashtra┬┤s demand and supply figure was 20,594 MW, followed by Uttar Pradesh (14,503 MW), Gujarat (14,448 MW), Tamil Nadu (13,505 MW), Rajasthan (10,961 MW) and Punjab (10,852 MW). Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country which has seen constant rise in power demand and it ensured quality power to meet its maximum demand of 10,902 MW.
