  COMMUNICATION FEATURE

Insulating with Quality

Tiger Profiles and Insulation LLC, a primary source of insulated cladding and roofing solutions, offers high-quality “Green” products.

iger Profiles and Insulation LLC (TPI), was incorporated in Sharjah (UAE) in 1994 as a member of the Tiger Group of Companies that was established in the United Arab Emirates in 1968. TPI is a primary source for the design and supply of cold-roll formed and insulated roof and wall profiles, roof tiles, floor decks, dry wall partitions, dry false ceilings, Z & C channels, steel and aluminum profiled sheeting and other cladding materials and accessories. The company is also recognised amongst the Middle East and GCC’s largest suppliers of cladding material.

Quality
The products offered by Tiger Profiles & Insulation reign high in terms of quality and performance as well as environmental characteristics and benefits. The company offers insulated products manufactured with the use of PIR/PUR like composite sandwich panels, concealed fastener wall panels; pre-insulated partitions and cold store panels. TPI is a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and holds the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management, Safety, Health and Environment International Standard Certificates.

Efficiency
TPI products have lowest thermal conductivity of any of the large volume insulants, which enables them to save space by using similar insulation thickness while achieving the same insulation efficiency as with other materials.
Being rigid foam, PIR / PUR is used as the insulating element in the core of a steel sandwich panel – serving the dual purpose of insulation and structural integrity and allowing production of roofing and cladding panels and construction of large industrial buildings, most notably refrigerated stores.
The products have an ability to be applied as a board with a variety of surfaces to any structure that merely needs insulation. There is an added advantage as with special joint designs, it proves to be much easier to make a roof insulation air tight than it would be, for example, with roofing foils.
They are able to provide thermal comfort and protection from the summer heat.

Environment-friendly
Tiger Profiles & Insulation may be the only company in the region to use environmentally approved Cyclo-pentane blowing agents that are consistent with the United Nations’ Montreal Protocol of 1987 addressing chemicals that affect the ozone layer, as well as mandates set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to meet the requirements of Title VI of the Clean Air Act (Section 602).
Cyclo-pentane used by the company has been officially recognised to have Zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and Zero Global Warming Potential (GWP). This helps it to save energy resources; reduce emissions; recycle used materials and recycle energy use.

Cost-efficient
The cost efficiency of TPI products is very high compared to other materials and ranks very high compared to the cost per tonne of CO2 emissions saved.
The cost efficiency of insulation foam applications is very much influenced
by the type of application such as a domestic dwelling, a commercial or an institutional building.

Infrastructure
Dedicated to its aim of claiming the largest production of Polyurethane panels in the region, TPI has a multi-million Euro production plant in Abu Dhabi. The mega, high-speed production plant in Abu Dhabi, is a state of the art production facility that houses some of the world’s most technically advanced machines that are able to transform raw material into a finished product in duration of less than twenty minutes. The plant has an annual capacity of 2,600,000 sq m.

TPI’s Insulated solutions
TPI offers its client a diverse product line of insulation solutions.
Composite Sandwich Panels: These are manufactured by the use of rigid polyurethane with external and internal sheets of steel, alu-zinc and aluminium of different thicknesses, coating and colours. The general physical properties of the polyurethane used by the company include an overall density of 35 to 38 kg/m3, closed cell contents of greater than 90 per cent, thermal conductivity of 0.021 W/moK; and compressive strength. The sandwich panels’ dimensional stability (reflected in linear changes) are characterised as follows: 48 hours @ -250C equals to 1 per cent max; 48 hours @ 700C equals to 1 per cent max; and polyurethane thickness ranging from 50 mm to 150 mm.

Panels for cold stores: These include both free standing and reefer containers that are individually designed to meet clients’ specific requirements. They range in thickness from 50 mm to 250 mm. The cold store panels are continuously foamed-in-line for peak insulating efficiency. They are moulded with tongue and groove arrangements to extremely close tolerances for a tight fit between panels. A Cam-lock system is used to give tightest possible joint sealing preventing condensation and heat transfer. The external metal skin is available in a wide range of standards as Mill finish, Polyester colour coating, PVF2 colour coating, PVC Plastisol coating, Stucco embossed and stainless steel. Cold store doors are built to the highest quality and environmental standards customised to clients’ requirements. They are accompanied by a complete range of accessories including door locks, rubber gaskets, curtains and safety release mechanism.

Continuous Tile Profile Panels: These are manufactured using rigid polyurethane with external and internal sheets of aluminum of varying thicknesses, coatings and colours as required by clients. The tile profiles’ manufacturing process utilises polyurethane foam of typical properties such as an average density of 35 – 40kg / cu m, closed cell contents that are greater than 95 per cent initial thermal conductivity at 230C equal to 21mw/mk; panel thickness of 50 mm to 100 mm, and dimensional stability and linear variation equal to 1 per cent maximum at 700C. The cladding specification is based on the use of aluminum sheets conforming to Grade AA-3105 (En 485/4, Alloy Ns31 and Temper H.16). The top skin sheet thickness for aluminum tile profiles is recommended at 0.7mm.

Heat Reflecting Metal Coatings: Solasteel GAIA Big 5 2008 Gold Award Winning and first time available Heat Reflecting Metal Coatings increase points for LEED certificates as certified by EcoSpecifier International. Used alone as a single skin profile, their benefits include an ability to protect against the effect of thermal elongation, reduce energy costs by upto 45 per cent, reduce internal temperatures by 8 - 12°C, remove the need for insulation in the case that no air-conditioning is used.
Heat Reflecting Coating Products: Solacoat GAIA Big 5 2008 Silver Award Winning Heat Reflecting Coating Products increase points for LEED certificates as certified by EcoSpecifier International. They are used as an easily applied coating on almost any surfaces, existing or new and are able to reduce energy costs by upto 45 per cent and give a longer life to coated surfaces thus reducing maintenance costs and providing a visually pleasing effect to any structure.
T-Seam®: T-Seam® is an environmentally friendly and internationally certified metal standing seam roofing system certified by FM Approvals (USA) and DBIT (Germany). Besides being easily incorporated into the use of new or existing structures, T-Seam is a highly durable, maintenance free, aesthetically beautiful solution for the sophisticated demands and challenges of the world’s leading architects and designers.
